guida per spedire le vostre illustrazioni

- Studiate le pubblicazioni recenti della casa editrice per capirne
lo stile e la funzione
- Mandate stampe a colori o fotocopie di buona qualità delle
vostre migliori illustrazioni
- Mettete il vostro nome, indirizzo, email e telefono su ogni illustrazione
(il formato migliore è A4, possibilmente non piegato)
- Mai mandare illustrazioni originali
- A volte può essere richiesta una busta già affrancata
per ricevere una risposta dall'editore o per avere indietro il vostro
materiale
- Indirizzate il tutto all'Art Director
- Allegate una lettera di presentazione con il vostro curriculum vitae
e le informazioni sulle vostre precedenti pubblicazioni
Potete anche mandare:
- Una cartolina: scegliete un'illustrazione (o più di una) che
rappresenti il vostro stile e fatevi stampare delle cartoline. Assicuratevi
di inserire il vostro nome, indirizzo, numero di telefono, email e la
scritta "illustratore".
- Fotografie o diapositive: potete madare foto o diapositive ma di solito
si preferiscono illustrazioni stampate o fotocopiate.

- Study recent issues to note the style and function of illustration
used by the publishing house
- Send color prints, printed pieces and good copies of your best pictures
- Put your name, address, e-mail and phone number on all pieces (best
format: 8x12 - A4)
- Never send original artwork
- Sometimes a self-addressed stamped envelope is required for reply
or return of your illustrations
- Address your submission to Art Director
- Include a cover letter with information regarding any previously published
work and your complete resume
You can also send:
- A postcard: Choose one (or more) of your illustrations that is representative
of your style, then have the image printed on postcards. Have your name,
address, e-mail, phone number and the word "Illustrator" printed
on the postcard
- Tearsheets: Art directors like Tearsheets because they are proof that
you are experienced and have met deadlines on previous projects.
- Photographs and slides: You can send photographs or slides, but printed
or photocopied samples are usually preferred.
